Fresno is where most of our clients live and work, and the drive out to Old Town Clovis is short enough that it barely counts as a trip. If you are coming from Fresno, your tightness has a fairly predictable shape.
What Fresno bodies need
Woodward Park runners and cyclists bring in tight calves, hip flexors and IT bands. Tower District regulars who spend evenings on their feet at restaurants and shops carry it in the low back and shoulders. Add the downtown office crowd with locked up necks from long commutes on Highway 41 and you have most of the local caseload.
- Woodward Park runners: calves, plantar fascia and glute medius
- Cyclists on the Lewis S. Eaton Trail: hip flexors, quads and a tight low back
- Tower District service industry: feet, low back and shoulders
- Downtown Fresno commuters: neck, shoulders and jaw
Timing
Herndon and Shaw get slow around rush hour, so a five thirty booking after work can mean sitting in traffic before you even get horizontal. Book mornings if you value your blood pressure. Sunday mornings before eleven are the calmest window, and the drive out to Clovis is genuinely pleasant.
“If you run Woodward Park three times a week and never get your calves worked on, the calf is going to make that decision for you eventually.”
Getting to the studio
Most of Fresno is fifteen to twenty five minutes from Old Town Clovis depending on the neighborhood. Herndon Avenue east is the reliable route from the north side, Shaw Avenue works well from central Fresno. Highway 168 is fastest outside of peak hours if you are coming from the Tower District or downtown.
After your session
Walk a loop around Old Town rather than sitting straight down in the car for the drive home. Twenty minutes of easy movement after deep work keeps the tissue from tightening back up before you even get on Herndon.
